7/14
At lunch time, Sharon came up with an idea that since we were in Sitou, we should go to see the sun rise at the observatory up in the mountain! Without a doubt, I joined her. Hearing our discussion about the trip, Ivy and Carolina decided to join our plan!
Before the departure, we bought some cookies and borrowed as much flashlight as we could. Following the map as well as the compass in the ipad , we left the dorm at 12 and it really dark in the middle of the night even though we had many flashlights.
During the trip, everyone took turns telling stories and jokes so that we could forget about the scary, invisible road in front of us and the more and more stringer fatigued feeling from our feet as we walked further and further. After the last few steep uphill and turns, we eventually reached the observatory at 3:40. I took a nap and got up at 4:50. It was so cold that I could not stop myself from trembling!
Gradually the sky turned brighter and brighter. I could see the clouds up in the sky and the mists beneath where we stood. While the clouds were turning into orange, the mists became thicker and thicker. All of a sudden, a tip of sunshine climbed over the mountain and the entire sun showed up immediately! It was so dazzling and warm that I couldn't look straight at the sun. Right after a while, the mists all evaporated due to the warm sunshine. Part of the sun was covered by the mists again and everything looked so wonderful!
